How to Enable BitLocker Drive Encryption on Windows 10

Microsoft Corporation introduces BitLocker Drive Encryption security tools in its latest operating system Windows 10. It is widely used to secure stored data either in fixed drive or removal drive of computer system. When it is enabled for a particular drive, it automatically encrypts all data of drive and protect with Passwords. How BitLocker Drive Encryption is enabled is explained under.

How to Enable BitLocker DriveEncryption on Windows 10

Tips to Enable BitLocker Drive Encryption on

#. Launch Start menu and Type BitLocker in the search field.

#. In search result you will get Manage BitLocker, click on it.

#. After that, BitLocker Drive Encryption window will appear on your computer screen.

#. In BitLocker Drive Window, you will see list of all drives of computer system.

#. Search the drive to which you want to protect and click on its Turn On BitLocker option.

#. Thereupon, you will get another BitLocker Encryption window which will ask you How you want to unlock the drive.

#. And you will also get two options password and smart card. Select Use a Password to unlock this drive and enter a new strong password in specified field.

#. Remember this password you will need in future when you will boot windows 10. 

#. Click on Next button.

#. Now you will get recovery key which will be helpful in future if you forget password.

#. Select desired option and click on Next Button.

#. Now you will be asked how much of a drive you will like to encrypt where select which one you like and click on next button.

#. Click on Start encrypting button to encrypt the drive.

#. Restart you computer after Encrypting process is over. You will get encrypted drive is locked and when you double click on it, you will be asked to enter password.
