In Windows 10, File Explorer contains favorites, frequent folders and recent files. Favorites holds
favorite folders, Frequent folders holds ten folders used frequently on the
system and Recent Files holds twenty files recently used by user. These are not
much important for such user who cares for privacy. So, I am writing a method
which will guide you in deleting Recent Files, Frequents folders and Favorite
Folders from File Explorer.
Steps to delete recent files and
frequent folders from File Explorer on Windows 10 –
#. First of all, open Run dialog box followed by Type regedit.exe in the command box and click on Ok.
#. Instantly, you will get Registry Editor where navigate yourself at Delete folders using
following path.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HomeFolder\NameSpace\Delete
Folders
#. Under delete folders, you will get 3936E9ER-D92C-4EEE-A85A-BC-16D5EA-819 Key.
If you want to delete Frequent Folders
then delete this key.
#. Here, you will also get 4564b25e-30cd-4787-82ba-39e73a750b14 Key. Delete it if you want to
delete Recent Files.
#. If you want to restore these then create 3936E9ER-D92C-4EEE-A85A-BC-16D5EA-819
and 4564b25e-30cd-4787-82ba-39e73a750b14 Key there again.
